Heritage Park Historical Village
Take a trip back in time to southern Calgary’s Heritage Park Historical Village. Experience nearly 100 years of western Canadian history spanning from the 1860s to the 1950s, where you will learn about Canada’s past, from the fur trade and the Canadian Pacific Railway that shaped Canada, to the more modern automobile-dominated, petroleum era. Between the months of May and October, families can enjoy authentic and re-created historical buildings, genuine artifacts, and learn about day-to-day life from the parks’ historical interpreters.
Satiate your appetite by recharging on historically inspired dishes at the parks year-round restaurant, The Selkirk, and enjoy a taste of days gone by. Make a stop at one of the parks unique period-appropriate shops, where you will find everything from old-fashioned candies to general sundries. And don’t forget to capture your time-travelling adventure by stopping by the antique portrait studio – a timeless keepsake!
