Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park
Located north-west of Grimshaw, Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park is found along the eastern shores of Lac Cardinal. This is a great all-seasons park to enjoy. The diverse forest offers excellent recreation with forest trails that are perfect for hiking and mountain biking. The Provincial Park is known for its wildlife viewing and has over 140 species of birds and other fauna. There are also plenty of hidden treasures and a popular geocaching location.
In the summer, people come out to sit on the beach and make use of the playground, camp kitchen and fire pits. The boat launch is a popular spot to launch your power boat, canoe, kayaking or stand-up paddleboard. During the winter months, people visiting will enjoy the Nordic skiing trails, with 4.5 km of ungroomed routes through North Peace boreal forest. It is also an excellent place to snowshoe as well.
