William A. Switzer Provincial Park
William A. Switzer Provincial Park is located just 15 minutes away from Hinton on Hwy. 40 North, is a beautiful provincial park in the Canadian foothills. Known to locals as Switzer Park and is made up of a series of lakes connected by forested trails. Blue Lake and Kelly's Bathtub (part of Jervis Lake) are popular spots to visit with well-maintained trails and informative signs. There are options for both easy and more challenging hikes, offering stunning views of scenery, and wildlife including deer, moose and various bird species. There's an extensive array of flora and fauna to appreciate in the park.
Shore fishing is popular; however, those with boats can take advantage of abundant opportunities to fish for lake whitefish or yellow perch. The park also offers well-equipped day-use areas for swimming and other recreational activities. Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs to the park, as it is dog-friendly, and there are convenient outhouse washrooms available for public use.
