Midnight Dome Lookout
The Midnight Dome Lookout is perched high above Dawson City, Yukon, and has been a favorite spot for decades. Known as the Midnight Dome, it attracts visitors year-round for spectacular views of the midnight sun, vibrant night skies and iconic sights like the Yukon River, Klondike Valley, Bonanza Creek, Top of the World Highway and the Ogilvie Mountains.
The lookout area is well-kept with a short trail leading to a wooden perch on a rocky bluff. Interpretive signs, benches, and pit toilets dot the landscape. At the hill's highest point, a large rock mound features a carved wooden bench with the inscription "Life is the World," offering panoramic 360-degree views of the region.
Hiking, sightseeing and picnicking are a few activities enjoyed on the Midnight Dome. But, did you know, that the Midnight Dome is also a launching point for paragliders. Maybe on your visit, you will see human's fly.
