Tombstone Territorial Park
Located Northeast of Dawson City, along the Dempster Highway, is the striking Tombstone Territorial Park, and is a must-visit on your trip to the Yukon. The rugged peaks, permafrost landforms and abundant wildlife makes this a popular destination for hiking, wildlife viewing and winter recreation. It is also home to an abundance of wildlife, such as caribou, moose, Dall sheep, grizzly and black bears. The park is a legacy of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Land Claim Agreement, of which their ancestors have been using this area for thousands of years.
The drive on the Dempster Highway provides an opportunity to view spectacular landscape and stunning arctic tundra, with large valleys punctuated by jagged peaks on every twist of the road.
Tombstone Territorial Park is rugged and remote, so make sure you are prepared before visiting. The park has an Interpretive Centre open between mid-May until mid-September
