Over the past six months, the team at the Coast Bastion Hotel has been hard at work planning and revamping every corner of the hotel. The goal of the renovation was simple: to create a modern, innovative, and Refreshingly Local ™ hotel experience. By incorporating locally sourced materials and embracing the unique culture of Nanaimo, the hotel has been transformed into a destination that reflects the spirit of the community.
When you walk into the lobby, you’ll be met with a brand-new look, one that blends modern sophistication with local flair. With ocean-inspired lighting fixtures, beautiful new carpets, and modern furniture, the new lobby space is welcoming, comfortable, and functional to ensure a smooth traveler check-in experience.
This renovation also includes fully renovated rooms to ensure each unique traveler has a space that meets their unique needs. No matter which room type you decide on, each one comes with air conditioning, windows that open for fresh air, free wi-fi, a flat-screen TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave for added convenience during your stay. Inside each space, you’ll find locally inspired decor, quality tile floors, triple-sheeted beds, and a Juliet balcony with either a partial or full ocean view of Nanaimo Harbour.
