In years past, an enormous 18-meter Christmas tree has been carefully lifted onto the hotel’s roof and is slowly lit as donations are received. However this year, the tree will be front and center in the Coast Hotel Prince George by APA lobby, so that supporters of the event can enjoy feeling connected to the tree's true meaning, grab a photo, and watch up close and personal as the tree gets adorned with more and more glimmering lights.
The “Under the Tree” kick-off celebration will be on December 9, 2023, from 11am to 3pm at the Coast Prince George Hotel by APA. This free event features fun family-friendly activities and a great atmosphere to get the word out about this important community initiative. Attendees of the event are encouraged to bring a new or gently used book to donate to children & youth - just place your book(s) under the tree in the hotel lobby!
Santa will be making an appearance at the event, so be sure to grab a picture with him. He’ll also be doing a very special book reading at 2pm that you won’t want to miss! There will be hot chocolate, juice and cookies to snack on during the festivities and the kids will love the coloring contest and ornament-making activity. Don’t forget to grab a goody bag on your way out as a thank-you for attending the event!
