Easter is almost here and so are the festivities! There are many unique Easter experiences happening and we’ve hunted down some of the top events that you and your entire family can enjoy for an egg-stra special Easter.
Three Fun-filled Events at Maan Farms in Abbotsford, BC
The Easter events at Maan Farms are known to be a hit, and they’re back this year with three ultra-popular events! The first is their Baby Animal Easter Days (BAE Days), where guests get the chance to visit with the Easter Bunny and interact with seven baby animals such as bunnies, chicks and calves. As you visit each animal station, you’ll also be searching for colorful eggs and the very special golden egg - whoever finds it, wins a special prize!
They’ll also be serving amazing food and treats such as their signature Egg-Cellent Ice Cream - a handmade milk chocolate egg filled with creamy soft serve ice cream topped with caramel, crushed mini eggs, and a crisp wafer straw. How amazing does that sound? BAE Days will be held April 7 - 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you and your family are hoping to get more up and close and personal with the Easter Bunny, he’ll be making a special appearance at their new Breakfast With The Easter Bunny event. Delight in a pancake breakfast complete with berries, whipped cream and sausages while you spend time with everyone's favorite bunny!
Their event Bunnies & Booze is also making a comeback because Easter isn’t just for kids - right? This unique 19+ event is 90’s themed and will have participants going on an egg hunt, meeting the Easter Bunny, playing fun games, enjoying yummy appetizers and sipping on a glass of Maan Farms Estate Winery’s award-winning berry wine or beer. Bunnies & Booze will be held on March 31 and April 1, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until late. If you are unable to attend it this year, be sure to schedule it in your calendar for next year.
Easterfest at Taves Family Farm in Abbotsford, BC
There’s something about the fresh spring air and serene setting of a farm that makes it the perfect place to enjoy an Easter egg hunt! At Taves Farm in Abbotsford, Easterfest is back from April 7 - 10, 2023 from 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. The kids can enjoy a hayride around the farm as well as hunt for eggs all around the beautiful grounds. After that, walk around the farm and pet the goats and bunnies. You’ll also be able to see donkeys, alpacas, sheep, pigs and more animals! The fun doesn’t stop there, there will also be pedal karts, slides and jumping pillows for the kids, and it’s all included in your pass.
If you’re bringing your fur pup with you, they also offer a dog treat pass which can be purchased as an add-on. This allows your dog to join in on the fun and visit five stations around the farm where they chomp down on some delicious local dog treats!
If you’re traveling without kids, you may want to attend their adults-only Easter event happening on March 31 & April 1, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. This event takes place at Taves Estate Winery where you will enjoy your own Easter egg hunt at twilight, live music, food truck snacks, goat cuddles, and cider flights! Heads up, this event is super popular and tends to fill up fast! To make sure you don't miss out, we recommend registering early in March before registration closes. Don't wait too long! Easter Egg Hunt For Dogs in Calgary, Alberta
If you’re looking for a family-friendly event where you can get your four-legged friend involved, this is the event for you! National Service Dogs hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt For Dogs where all proceeds go towards helping children with autism and Veterans/First Responders who are suffering from PTSD by providing them with a specially trained dog.
The hunt includes thousands of colorful eggs that contain prize stickers and of course, dog treats! The eggs are hidden all over the park and with the help of their humans, the dogs retrieve as many eggs as possible for a chance to fill their prize card and win an awesome prize! This year, the hunt takes place on April 7, 2023, at Calaway Park and starts at 11:00 a.m; make sure you register ahead of time and book your pet-friendly suite at Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel & Suites by APA so the entire family can get some much-needed rest after a busy day.

If Victoria on Vancouver Island is your destination, there’s no shortage of family-friendly events happening! The BC Forest Discovery Centre is back with its annual Easter Scavenger Hunt, happening on April 8 - 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The kids will love the chance to go on unlimited Green Hornet Train Rides, crafts, and goodie bags for the scavenger hunt. This is a great activity for those who want to provide their family with a fun experience with an educational twist! They’ll have the chance to learn about trains, forestry and much more.
If you’re looking for free fun, make sure to add “Easter At The Market” to your calendar, happening on April 19, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Victoria Public Market. The kids will love going around to each booth and collecting chocolate eggs from the variety of local food producers, artisans and specialty retailers that are there. There will be live music, balloon twisting, and a free photo booth experience to boot!
