Paw-Some Getaways: A Dog’s Guide To Staying At Pet-Friendly Coast Hotels
As a loyal canine traveler, I’ve had the privilege of staying at some of the most dog-friendly hotels. And let me tell you, when it comes to making a dog feel like a VIP, Coast Hotels knows how to roll out the red carpet! I’ve been to a few of their locations, including Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA, Coast Seattle Downtown Hotel by APA, Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre and Coast Tsawwassen Inn and each one has its unique charm and dog-friendly perks. Here’s a rundown of what it’s like to stay at some of Coast Hotels’ pet-friendly hotels from a dog’s point of view.
Vancouver, BC
Oh, Vancouver! Not only is it a city full of lush parks and scenic waterfront and mountain views, but Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA is the perfect choice when looking for a pet-friendly hotel in Vancouver. With their pet-friendly accommodations, the staff made me feel like royalty from the moment I walked through the door. They greeted me with warm smiles and lots of pets which made me feel right at home. They gave me a comfy dog bed, pet sheets for the sofa, food bowls and a special amenity package to make my stay stress-free and relaxing. While I slept and relaxed, my humans enjoyed floor-to-ceiling windows with views of downtown, free Wi-Fi, a 55” flat screen TV, comfy bedding and Toto® Washlets.
The best part? The hotel is just a short walk away from the famous Stanley Park, which offers over 1,000 acres of trails where I could run, chase squirrels and enjoy all the smells nature has to offer, while my human takes in all of the stunning scenery. If you’re like me and like to have some off-leash time, check out Devonian Harbour Park, an off-leash dog park that’s a short walk away from the downtown Vancouver hotel. It features a partially fenced, open grassy area and a small rocky beach for those who enjoy swimming! Vancouver is known for being a very dog-friendly city. There are many pet-friendly patios where I can relax with my humans and watch the city hustle and bustle. Trust me, if you like exploring city parks and taking leisurely walks by the water, this is the place to stay.
Seattle, WA
If you enjoy being close to the action with your human, Coast Seattle Downtown Hotel by APA is the ultimate spot. With their pet-friendly accommodations and convenient location right in the heart of downtown Seattle, I felt like a celebrity with spacious and comfortable rooms where I could take naps in between city adventures. The hotel staff was super attentive and welcoming, which made my vacation with my humans one to remember. While I was enjoying my sleep after a busy day, my humans enjoyed free wi-fi, comfortable beds, a flat screen TV and access to the Executive Lounge, featuring a free deluxe continental breakfast buffet, happy hour and snacks.
When it was time to explore, I was thrilled to discover that Seattle is known for being one of the most pet-friendly cities in the Pacific Northwest. There are so many dog-friendly parks around, including Kerry Park and Myrtle Edwards Park. Both parks are near the downtown Seattle hotel, with Kerry Park offering some of the best views of the city skyline, while Myrtle Edwards Park offers great views of the Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier and Puget Sound, all of which your humans will appreciate. Make sure your humans take you to the parks at night, so they can witness spectacular sunsets, the Space Needle sparkling, brightly lit ferries and the downtown skyscrapers glowing. I love when my humans can take me with them on their excursions instead of leaving me behind and Pioneer Square delivers just that. It’s a dog-friendly area with pet-friendly patios throughout, so the whole family can enjoy the outing together.
Canmore, AB
If you’re looking for a more mountainous retreat, Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre is the place to be! As soon as we checked in, I was met with smiles, pets and a special treat! Their pet-friendly accommodations include a cozy pet bed, food bowl and a locally sourced pet treat (my favorite). After a long day of hiking, the cozy and comfortable rooms at the Canmore hotel offered the perfect place to curl up on the comfy dog bed they gave me while my humans enjoyed free wi-fi, flat screen TV, in-room Starbucks coffee and tea and soaked up the mountain views.
As an outdoor enthusiast, I had a blast with all the trails right at my doorstep. The hotel provides easy access to some of the most scenic hikes and exciting outdoor activities in Alberta that both you and your human will love. There is no shortage of nearby dog parks, including Elk Run Dog Park, which is a great off-leash park with beautiful panoramic views of the Rockies for your paw-rents, Palliser Dog Park with scenic views and Quarry Lake Dog Park, which has a lake that’s perfect to cool off in on hot summer days. If you’re like me and don’t mind a little road trip to get to an exciting destination, check out Larch Valley and Taylor Lake. These hiking destinations are great for dogs and humans! Larch Valley is a beautiful hike in Banff National Park and is a prime spot for your humans to experience Alberta’s vibrant larch trees. Taylor Lake is a stunning hike near Lake Louise with spectacular mountain views. All in all, Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre is the ideal spot for the adventurous pup who loves to stretch their paws in nature.
Delta, BC
Nestled near the ocean in Delta and just minutes away from the BC Ferry terminal, Coast Tsawwassen Inn is a serene getaway for dogs like me and our humans. As soon as we arrived, I could practically feel the sea breeze on my face. The pet-friendly accommodations were fantastic as they gave me a special amenity gift upon check-in! They even have an on-site pet washing station in the parking garage, which is perfect for dogs like me who aren’t afraid to run in the mud and puddles. At night, I relaxed in the cozy and comfortable rooms while my humans enjoyed their plush bedding, free wi-fii and flat-screen TVs.

Tsawwassen offers many activities for dogs and people alike. Check out Millennium Trail for a leisurely stroll or challenging hike, or Boundary Bay Regional Park for its sandy beaches or scenic trails. There’s also plenty of nearby dog parks such as Pebble Hill Park and Dennison Park which both feature sports courts, fields and trails for your human and an off-leash dog area for those dogs who want to run free and Beach Grove Park featuring off-leash trails where I can unleash all my energy and playgrounds, picnic tables and sports courts for your humans. Delta, BC is certainly a place where both dogs and humans can have a great and exciting getaway.
