A wedding is a celebration of two unique people coming together. Your wedding will be extra special because of all of the personal touches you add. With that said, there are some commonalities between the actual pre-, during, and post-wedding events.

Take a peek at this list of what to consider to get some ideas for an idyllic wedding weekend.

An Intimate Rehearsal Dinner

While the Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre’s Wildrose Ballroom can accommodate up to 300 guests at your Canmore wedding, it can also be divided into four separate sections for smaller weddings or if you are looking for a more intimate space for your rehearsal dinner.

There are beautiful options for a smaller group at our Canmore hotel, as well. TABLE Food + Drink’s private dining room is perfect for groups of 30 or less and offers a gorgeous, charming space for rehearsal dinners and smaller weddings.

Offering personalized service and a curated menu with modern interpretations of traditional dishes, TABLE Food + Drink’s stunning venue is perfect for enjoying a rehearsal dinner with your loved ones before your big Canmore wedding day.

An Exquisite Canmore Wedding Ceremony

A recently married couple walks toward the mountains in Canmore.

With the Rocky Mountains providing an unbeatable, magical background, there is no shortage of jaw-dropping locations for you and your partner to exchange your vows. Planning and booking well in advance is critical, as Canmore wedding venues are in very high demand. Here are a few of the best:

  • Rundleview Parkette
This gorgeous, intimate park is run by the town and is one of the more private outdoor Canmore wedding venues. With space for up to 120 people, this stunning outdoor area is surrounded by trees and offers an unrivalled view of the mountains.

What to know: Rundleview Parkette is a short drive from downtown, but there are no indoor facilities if you’d like a sheltered reception. The Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre is a short 9-minute drive away.

  • Riverside Park
For smaller weddings with up to 50 guests, Riverside Park is an incredible Canmore wedding venue. Located on the east bank of the Bow River and within walking distance from downtown Canmore, Riverside Park has amazing mountain views and nearby amenities, too.
  • What to know: Booking Riverside Park as early as possible is highly recommended as its one of the most sought-after outdoor wedding venues in Canmore. The grassy area is not maintained, and there are no public washrooms on site.

  • Quarry Lake
Quarry Lake is perfect for weddings of up to 150 people. As far as outdoor wedding venues go, it’s hard to beat Quarry Lake. We’re not just talking about Canmore wedding venues, either. Located right on the shores of Quarry Lake and with a breathtaking view of the Three Sisters, this Canmore wedding venue is a little piece of paradise.

What to know: The pathway from the parking lot to the site itself can be difficult for guests with mobility challenges, and there are no indoor facilities.

  • Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre
One of the great things about holding a wedding at the Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre is that your ceremony can be held in the beautiful and elegant Wildrose Ballroom. That means you don’t have to worry about the unpredictable weather in the Bow Valley, set up and teardown are taken care of, and guests can relax and enjoy themselves after you exchange your vows and before the reception gets underway.

The Coast Canmore can connect wedding organizers with our partners at Mountain Event Rentals for any decoration needs, such as a stunning backdrop with twinkle lights.

Your Elegant Canmore Wedding Reception

The Wildrose Ballroom is a versatile, elegant space that can accommodate up to 300 guests. It is beautifully adorned with natural light, which is especially gorgeous during Canmore’s long summer nights. Elegant chandeliers and plush carpeting add to the ambiance, while the hardwood dance floor will have everyone up and bouncing to the beat once the DJ starts spinning.

But the Wildrose Ballroom’s versatility means it's adaptable and just as suitable for smaller weddings as for larger ones. The wedding reception space can be divided into four sections, each of which is ideal for up to 50 guests.

When you book the Wildrose Ballroom for your Canmore wedding, you get:

  • A stage and podium
  • Tables which each sit a maximum of eight guests and banquet chairs
  • A podium
  • A head table with white or black skirting for up to 12 guests
  • Black or white napkins, tablecloths and skirting
  • Plates, glasses and cutlery
  • Tables for gifts, cake, guestbook and DJ
  • Table number stands
  • Dancefloor

Please note that alcohol service has a last call at 12:45 a.m., with the bar closing at 1 a.m.

An Amazing Meal

When you choose the Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre as your Canmore wedding venue, our outstanding catering team offers plated meals for wedding receptions of up to 250 people and three separate and delicious buffet menu options as well. Details for both can be found here, in the Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre’s 2025 Wedding Guide.

The menus can be enhanced, and TABLE Food + Drink can accommodate food allergies, with all items on the buffets being clearly labelled if they contain gluten, nuts or dairy.

Here are a few highlights from the menu:

  • Wedding cake-cutting services are offered at $50 per 100 guests.

Rooms for Every Guest

Ensuring that there are rooms for guests to stay is one of the most important factors to consider when booking a Canmore wedding venue. The bride and groom will want guests to enjoy themselves at the reception without having to worry about how they’ll get home at the end of the night, so having rooms close by is vital.

At the Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre, guests are just steps from their room when they leave the reception at the Wildrose Ballroom and get the added benefit of waking up to crisp mountain air and the Rockies rising around them.

The Coast Canmore Hotel & Conference Centre features 164 elegantly appointed guest rooms with triple-sheeted bedding, complimentary Wi-Fi and coffee and tea in-room. Our hotel is pet-friendly, too, so out-of-town guests don’t need to worry about finding a pet sitter.

We also offer exclusive room rates for guests when you book your wedding ceremony or reception at our hotel, ensuring that all of your guests can afford to savour every second of your special day. You can even request a group room block so that the entire wedding party stays close by.
