Little Qualicum Cheeseworks was established by Clarke and Nancy Gourlay. After a career in humanitarian aid and development, they moved to explore their dream of making Swiss-style artisan cheese. They started off on a rented farm, with a handful of cows, making cheese in a renovated school-portable. With a growing team of staff and key involvement from Nancy’s parents, they were able to purchase 88-acre Morningstar Farm in French Creek, and Little Qualicum Cheeseworks found its permanent home.

Gaetano LoScerbo began crafting and selling gelato out of a tiny cart in a small rural town in Southern Italy in 1929. Three generations later, that very same delicious gelato was brought to Vancouver by Gaetano's great-grandson Mario. Mario's Gelati took off, creating a family business that remains proud of their Italian heritage and the unparalleled experience and knowledge they bring with it. The number one focus of their gelato production has always been the use of high quality ingredients in combination with their historically proven formulations.

Yen Brothers

Eddie and Ray Yen founded Yen Bros Food Service out of the back of their father’s market on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver in 1972. Their customer-first philosophy helped Yen Bros expand from a two-man operation to a staff of over 145. Today, they are one of the largest independently owned and family-operated foodservice distributors on Vancouver’s Lower Mainland.
