Sechelt, British Columbia

Sprockids Bike Park is situated just minutes from the Sunshine Coast (Langdale) ferry terminal and is a great place to start your mountain biking journey. With 14 km of trails, this park offers smooth trails that are great for a warm-up or plenty of steep trails for the pros! Nearby is also Roberts Creek, known as the Sunshine Coast’s most diverse network of trails. Located on the way to Sechelt, it’s a convenient stop along your journey. The trails here are full of character and are set in stunning old-growth forests. There are handmade bridges and other exciting jumps to keep riders on their toes - or should we say wheels!

Prince George, British Columbia

Prince George is the capital of Northern BC and boasts an extensive trail network that caters to mountain biking enthusiasts from all over the country and beyond. With 243 trails, there is something for everyone here. The biking trails at Pidherny Recreation Site are some of the most popular and for good reason! There are over 65 km of trails that range from beginner to intermediate, and for more advanced riders, you’ll enjoy plenty of jumps and challenging trails to keep you busy! If your furry friend is joining you on your trip, they’ll also enjoy the various spaces that are available for hiking and dog walking. 

If you’re seeking a more relaxed ride, try Heritage River Trail, a 3.9 km trail following the beautiful Nechako River. This route is quite flat and considered an easy route perfect for beginners or those wanting to take in the views as they ride.

Grimshaw, Alberta

Nestled in Alberta's Peace River Country, Grimshaw is a hidden gem for mountain biking enthusiasts. The Peace River trails provide an array of exciting options, from gentle cruises to technical descents. 

Head to Pat’s Creek Interpretive Trail and enjoy a relaxing ride, or take on one of the more challenging trails. Either way, you’ll enjoy wide open spaces, gorgeous blooming flowers and abundant wildlife! If you’re up for a challenge, make the climb up Misery Mountain and enjoy magnificent views of the Peace Valley River. Once you make it to the top, you’ll see why the effort is so worth it!

Santa Barbara, California

You might think of Santa Barbara as having idyllic beaches and a warm sunny climate, and you’re right! But did you know Santa Barbara also offers a fantastic mountain biking experience? With 4,000-foot-tall mountains, beautiful weather and an ocean breeze to keep you cool while you ride, there’s so much to love about mountain biking in Santa Barbara. 

Los Padres National Park is packed with exceptional mountain biking trails that provide a dry climate and stunning ocean views. One of the top-rated trails in the park is The West Cuesta Ridge trail which offers long climbs, downhill sections and fun manmade features. Ventura River Preserve is another great trail with the option of following along the river or heading hillside. This is a great trail for all skill levels and offers the chance to ride through forests, valleys and so much more! Elings Park is another fantastic trail system made up of about 9 miles of trails. This park is a great choice for intermediate riders, but it also features some more challenging rides for the experts. The trails feature switchbacks, jumps and ocean views that can’t be beaten!
