Rainbow Park

Rainbow Park, located on Alta Lake Road, is the perfect spot to escape the summer heat and enjoy quality time with family and pets. The park offers breathtaking views of Alta Lake and the surrounding mountains, including the iconic Rainbow Mountain.

The park’s spacious grassy areas are ideal for picnics, sunbathing, or a friendly game of frisbee. A sandy beach and several docks provide great spots to enter the lake for a refreshing swim or to launch kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes. For dogs, the highlight is Barking Bay, a dedicated off-leash area open 24/7, where pups can run freely, splash in the water, and leap off the doggie dock. Additionally, the park is off-leash daily before 10am and after 8pm.

Parking at Rainbow Park is limited and fills up fast, but there’s a drop-off zone and some street parking if you’re lucky. To make things easier, hopping on the shuttle is a great option. You can also get to the park by walking or biking along the paved Valley Trail, which is a super convenient and scenic route.
