Alberta is world famous for many things, including the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains, several incredible national parks, vibrant arts and food cultures, and numerous professional sports teams. And now, there's a brand new Coast Hotel property in the heart of Peace Country for you to do exactly that! Come on, let us introduce you and show you around!

Explore the Grimshaw, Alberta Area!
Grimshaw is a perfect jumping-off point for visiting some of northwestern Alberta's most beautiful natural attractions.
- Cardinal Lake inside Queen Elizabeth Provincial Park - Just 10 kilometres from the Coast Grimshaw Hotel, this lake and provincial park provide year-round recreation opportunities. Boating and paddling sports are popular in the summer, as is hanging out on the beach and enjoying the fire pits. The park also has many trails perfect for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing, depending on the season.
- Peace River Wilderness Park - This beautiful park is a popular destination for outdoor lovers, fishing enthusiasts, and pet owners. Fish one of the two lakes for rainbow trout or enjoy it in a kayak or on a paddleboard. The park also has a large, pet-friendly loop trail system with several interconnected trails.
- Mile Zero Multiplex - Located directly across the street from the hotel, the Mile Zero Multiplex has a little something for everyone interested in being active. Lace up your skates or grab a stick to enjoy the indoor ice skating rink, run on the elevated track, or lift weights in the weight room. There's also a sparkling outdoor pool to enjoy in the summer.
- Misery Mountain Ski Hill - In spite of its name, Misery Mountain is anything but, well, miserable! Located in the scenic nearby town of Peace River, Misery Mountain has an impressive 35 runs ranging in difficulty. There's a challenge for every skier here, from greens for the newbies to steeper runs for the more experienced. Gear rentals and skiing lessons are also available onsite.
- Shaftesbury Trail - There's nothing quite like going for a scenic drive, and the Shaftesbury Trail is one of the most scenic and interesting in the Peace Country region. The 26-kilometre trail runs directly alongside the Peace River and has several historically significant points of interest along the way. Fort Fork, MacKenzie Cairn, and St. Augustine’s Mission are must-sees, but don't miss stopping at Strong Creek Park to take in the scenery and watch for wildlife. At the end of the Shaftesbury Trail, you can also take a ride on the river on the Shaftesbury Ferry.
- Krooked House Ltd. - This small local pub sells beer from several of Alberta's best craft breweries. Order a pint or a flight to sample different beers. Krooked House also has a small food menu featuring pub classics such as charcuterie, pizza, and nachos, plus non-beer options including wine and cocktails.
